As a participant in the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas, St. William was paired with St. Joseph Church in Cote-de-fer in Haiti, in 2008, and a Haiti Committee was formed.   In 2012, the Haiti Committee applied to become a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, Helping Hugs, Inc.   Helping Hugs, Inc.’s mission is to help distressed communities in need of material, educational, or medical supplies.  The goal is to promote healthcare, education, small business development and spiritual support.  At the present time, Helping Hugs is concentrating its efforts in the city of Côtes-de-Fer, Haiti as a result of the devastating earthquake which occurred in 2010.   Helping Hugs, Inc. is working closely with Father Islaire, pastor of St. Joseph Church in Côtes-de-Fer.  For more information on Helping Hugs, Inc., please click this link to Helping Hugs, Inc.’s website:
